Linda Cheever’s interest in painting began at 10 years old after winning First Place in a coloring contest of an Oregon major department store. Although self-taught, she advanced her knowledge of painting primarily from her artist mother and being around artists, and many art shows and events.
Linda’s early life was in Oregon, but later moved to Arizona and then to Europe where observation in art galleries and churches in England and Belgium gave her a whole new appreciation for the masterful techniques of the Old Masters. She says, “There is nothing like the experience of up-close personal observation.”
Prior to moving to Idaho, Linda was a member of Arizona’s West Valley Arts Council and also served in several positions on a local art league.
She is an active member of the Coeur d’Alene Art Association.
